To provide better services for expats and foreign-invested enterprises, Bay Area International Exchange Service Center, with the support of Bao’an Judicial Bureau and Mediation Association, is now open for mediation services.
为了更好的服务辖区境外人员和外商投资企业，在宝安区司法局和宝安区调解协会的支持下，湾区国际交流服务中心人民调解服务正式上线，为境外人员和外企提供纠纷调解服务。
What is mediation?
Mediation is a form of alternative dispute resolution, and is a way of resolving disputes between two or more parties. The process is entirely voluntary. It is private and confidential, without prejudice, and it is not binding until the point of agreement. Mediators use various techniques to open, or improve, dialogue between disputants, aiming to help the parties reach an agreement on the disputed matter. It is about finding a way forward that is acceptable to all.
人民调解是通过说服、疏导等方式，促使当事人在平等协商基础上自愿达成调解协议、解决民间纠纷的活动，是消除纷争的非诉讼纠纷解决方式；人民调解委员会调解民间纠纷不收取任何费用。纠纷发生后，可以由当事人一方或者双方以口头或书面形式向人民调解委员会提出申请。
Principles of Mediation Services:
· Mediation conducted on the basis of voluntariness and equity of the parties;
· not contrary to laws, regulations and national policies;
· respect the rights of all parties, and shall not prevent the parties from defending their rights through arbitration, administrative or judicial means in accordance with the law.
人民调解服务原则：
（一）在当事人自愿、平等的基础上进行调解；
（二）不违背法律、法规和国家政策；
（三）尊重当事人的权利，不得因调解而阻止当事人依法通过仲裁、行政、司法途径维护自己的权利。
